La artroplastia reversa de hombro (RSA) para las fracturas desplazadas de 3 y 4 partes en pacientes osteopénicos mayores

Las fracturas humerales proximales en pacientes de edad avanzada presentan conminución severa y calidad ósea osteoporótica. La artroplastia reversa de hombro recientemente se ha demostrado beneficiosa en el tratamiento de pacientes con fracturas humerales proximales complejas. Se recomienda la técnica anterior y tiene mejores resultados en ancianos que en individuos más jóvenes.
Aunque faltan resultados a largo plazo y estudios aleatorizados para prótesis inversa, los resultados a corto y mediano plazo han dado resultados prometedores que alientan a más cirujanos de hombro a usar este tipo de prótesis en fracturas humerales proximales.
