Abstract

PURPOSE:

Patients with an upper brachial plexus lesion can suffer from dysfunction, joint deformities and instability of the shoulder. The goal of this study was to determine pain, shoulder function, patient satisfaction and muscle strength in shoulder arthrodesis in patients with an upper brachial plexus lesion more than 15 years after surgery.

 

CONCLUSION:

At a mean of 20 years after shoulder arthrodesis, patients with an upper brachial plexus lesion are still satisfied with a good to moderate functional improvement.

Resumen

 

PROPÓSITO:

Los pacientes con una lesión del plexo braquial superior pueden sufrir de disfunción, deformidades articulares e inestabilidad del hombro. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el dolor, la función del hombro, la satisfacción del paciente y la fuerza muscular en la artrodesis del hombro en pacientes con una lesión del plexo braquial superior más de 15 años después de la cirugía.

CONCLUSIÓN:

A una media de 20 años después de la artrodesis del hombro, los pacientes con una lesión del plexo braquial superior siguen satisfechos con una mejoría funcional de buena a moderada.
